Week In Review (January 1 through January 7)

I thought this week was really good overall. I am not sure if it was because I haven't had good tv in a while or if it was because the shows were actually good.

For now on, instead of making a separate post about each show, I am gonna post one post per week and discuss things briefly and then rate each show on how I liked it.

  • Pretty Little Liars 2x14- I sometimes wonder why I continue watching this show, but despite how I feel about the storyline, I am quite attached to the main 4 characters. This week's episode was doing really well until the end where they finally come face to face with A and they never turn their flashlights up to A's face. Like really now? But other than that slight annoyance, I am happy that the Aria and Ezra's relationship is out in the open. I hated that Aria's father was pissed about it when he did the same exact thing, but instead was the teacher in that situation. He really has no say in the matter if you ask me. He was the parent and that was the standard he set. *shrug* I love Hanna. I want her to be my best friend. I am happy that Caleb is back and I guess she is getting her triangle with that other guy that I can never seem to remember his name. lol. Overall score: 8/10
  • Switched At Birth 1x11- I recently started watching this show when I found it on Netflix and started to give it a try. The pilot moved too fast for me and I thought I was gonna hate it, but by the third episode, I really got into it. I think I like this show so much because it really is different from any other show out there. This week's episode, involved Angelo finally getting to spend some time with his daughter Bay. I personally don't trust the guy, but I find it weird that Bay's parents are so against Bay spending time with him when they don't put any restrictions on spending time with Regina when she knew the truth about the girls being switched and didn't say anything. Yeah, I understood why Regina kept it a secret, but I wouldn't trust her after finding that out. I also liked seeing Lucas Grabeel with his regular blond hair back and not the color he had to match his mother and sister. Overall score: 8/10
  • Jane By Design 1x01- I decided to give this a chance since it seemed somewhat interesting. While it was not the best pilot I have ever seen, It was enough to grab my attention and want more. I thought the casting was well done and they did excellent job at casting the boys (they're all drool worth!). The show showed good bones for it to continue and I actually like the main character which is a plus. I hope this show is kinda like Switch At Birth where it gets better after they find their fitting after a few episodes, but either way, I think I will continue to watch it until it doesn't interest me anymore. Overall score: 8/10
  • Parenthood 3x12: This episode is by far one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. Everyone was mostly together which doesn't happen very often. Joel is just too perfect for this world. I think everyone could agree the standout line of this episode was when Joel held out the map and asked "is this the paper gps" or something among those lines. I also liked seeing the generations all together. I mean there was 4 of them all together and it was just nice finally meeting Zeke's mother after all of this time. Overall score: 10/10
  • Revenge 1x11: I am absolutely loving this show as it goes on. I think this show is very well planned out and all of the acting is so amazing  except for the actress that plays Ashley. She kind of annoys me and I really don't see her point in the show. I am still torn between on who I want Emily to be with. I think I ship her with Jack more so than Daniel, but Daniel is just too sweet and I want to just give him a hug, but I think at the end of the day, Jack is the one she belongs with. I am disappointed though that Jack doesn't know that Amanda really isn't the Amanda he knew and fell inlove with. Maybe he just wants to believe it is since Emily shot him down. I am also sad to see Ashton Holmes leave. I loved him on Nikita and was surprised to see him play on this show the complete opposite character. I hope they bring him back though. I don't even care if they bring him back more crazy than he was before. lol Overall score: 9/10
  • The Vampire Diaries 3x10: I really enjoyed this episode considering the last 2 episodes haven't been that good for me. I also wonder why they wrote Steven out for a while... I have seen a lot of hate about what Elena did to Jeremy, but I get why she did what she did. She has lost every single person in her family. The only person she has left is Jeremy... well family wise and after witnessing his almost death, I understand why she asked Damon to compel him and tell him to leave Mystic Falls. I don't care how old you are or how old she is, your only instinct will always be to protect your family and that you rather have them protected than dead. I am gonna miss Jeremy's bamf way of killing a hybrid. I always suspected that Jeremy would become more like his ancestors and become a vampire hunter. But Jeremy is only 16 and that is not what he should doing. My heart really broke for Elena. It was really the first time I realized that she is only 18 years old and have seen so many things and lost almost everyone she has ever known. The scene where Elena is at the sink with blood stained hands just made me start crying. No 18 year old should be doing that. No one should be dealing with these things. Paul Wesley's acting is really amazing and I selfishly want him to stay this way because I just love it that much. The delena kiss was expected and while I am not mad they kissed, I am not ecstatic about it either. I have become a torn shipper between Delena and Stelena. I guess Tyler is back being an ass and where has Caroline been?! The show is so nothing without her. Was I the only one that was starting to feel bad for Klaus? Like the scene where Elena tells him about Stefan the look on his face just made me sad and how me still daggered his sister just made me sad for him. He take his family around in their coffins, but won't dare to undagger them. Talk about emotional baggage. Overall score: 9/10
  • The Secret Circle 1x10: I want Jake to come back and not just be in a dream. I ship him with cassie so hard!! They are my otp! I never really watched a show based on witches so I am loving how they're exploring this dark magic thing with Cassie. I have seen Britt Robertson in a few other things and didn't really expect her to do that well in this kind of stuff, but I am glad she did!! I also don't trust most of the adults in this town lol. The only one I did trust was Cassie's grandmother and now that she is brainwashed there really is no hope for any of the adults in that show. It's sad when the teenagers seem to be better than the adults. Overall score: 8/10
  • Grey's Anatomy 8x10: I am having such a love/hate relationship with this show. The last episode was just heartbreaking that it reminded me why I fell in love with the show. While this show broke my heart because the girl lost half of her family on the day she turned 18, it still felt like it was lacking something. I loved the Alex Karev scenes so much. I just love how far he has come and I just wanna hug him. I guess the one thing that bothered me the most was how they pretty much said Meredith and Derek weren't going to get Zola back, but then she pops on the front porch and they don't even explain how or why. I am just annoyed how they can say the law is against them and then just hand them a baby. And don't even get me started on the whole one episode Meredith & Derek are on the brink of a divorce and Derek couldn't even look at her, and then next episode, they are all making our and shit. LIKE WHAT DID I MISS?! I guess I am still pissed about Meredith being fired for something, but Richard just gets demoted (BIGGEST DOUBLE STANDARD EVER)  and how they dropped the whole Adele story line like she was just there to serve to get Meredith fired. The episode though overall was a good one even though I complained about it, but that was because of Sandra Oh and the actress who played that 18 year old girl. Overall score: 8/10
  • Nikita 2x11- While I am wondering where this show is heading, I really enjoyed it. I loved seeing Nikita and Alex working together again and how Alex seems like she forgave what Nikita did. It made me sad that when Alex finds out her mother is alive, she also finds out she has been brainwashed and suspects that maybe her mother didn't want her afterall. I am getting bored of Nikita and Michael's relationship. I wish it was drawn out more than what it was because now I can care less about them. I am now shipping Nikita with Birkhoff. Overall score: 8/10
  • Supernatural 7x11-  I am never going to be able to watch season 1 again without screaming at my tv  that it's never going to be the same and then I will probably be found sitting in a corner crying because these boys are gonna lose so much. The episode was funny, but also sad as it's just one episode after Bobby's death which I am still not counting him out forever. He just can't be gone. My favorite scene of the whole episode was the last one where Sam asks Dean if he's okay and like always, Dean says he's fine. Sam says he's not okay with everything, but doesn't push Dean anymore about because he knows he's just not going to get anywhere with him. And then Dean tries to smile  like that guy told him to after all he's still breathing and alive, but Dean's eyes tell a different story. He's hurting too and looks like he's about to start crying, but doesn't. I also loved how he told the girl's dad to get out of the hunting business and how she's still young and could go to college despite her mother being killed in a horrific way. He doesn't want anyone else to go through what he has. He personally knows how much she has to lose if she continues working with her dad. Overall score: 10/10
Overall: I thought this week was a pretty good week. All of my shows gave a pretty solid episode.

Currently Watching:
Friends. I am on season 10. I am both happy and sad about this. I don't want it to end.
I also am rewatching some TVD and Fringe episodes.

Tv shows I want to begin to watch.
Roswell.
While I watched the first 2 episodes, it's kind of cheesy and I want to give it a chance since Jason Katims produced it. I hope it gets better.
Downtown Abbey. I found it on Netflix and want to know why everyone likes it so much.

Pan Am 1x07 "Romance Languages"

This post is probably going to be pretty short compared to the others I have written tonight.

I have such a love/hate relationship with this show. The past 2 episodes were getting so much  better and I was getting hooked and then came along this episode. It had a few good moments, but most of it was boring.

I loved seeing Gaius Charles back on my screen.  I thought he's scenes were pretty good and I think he's supposed to be on there for a few episodes so that's good.

I liked when the girls were getting drunk on the plane and then the captains came in. I just love when they're all together.

I really love Jeremy Davidson on this show more than I did on Army Wives. I ship his character with Kate so much. I didn't feel any emotion for Kate when she had to betray that guy. I just wasn't invested in the relationship at all.

Hm, I really don't know what else to say.

I love how they set up every episode. It makes it interesting while they are in the sky.

My favorite scene of the whole episode was when Dean let Colette fly the airplane. It was such a cute moment and I love them together!!! I love Dean in general (he is really the one that I really connect to for some odd reason).

Things I didn't like about this episode:
  • This show doesn't feel like the 60's and I forget all the time what decade we're in.
  • No Laura/Ted scenes because that is the only time I find myself liking the 2 of them.
  • Not that much of Maggie just because I love Christina Ricci.
  • pretty much the whole episode.
Things I liked about the episode:
  • Dean teaching Collet to fly the airplane.
Yeah, I just don't know what to think about this show anymore. I was gaining such hope in it the past 2 episodes.

The Good Wife 3x07 " Executive Order 13224"

I feel like this is the only show right now that I can honestly hasn't let me down yet this season and it just makes me so happy to have it in my life.

In my notes that I made while watching the show, I probably wrote Cary is beautiful at least 6 times. lol I just love it when he smiles okay? I am happy that he got his promotion, but I have mixed feelings about Dana sticking around. I don't like her around Cary just simply because I get jealous and want to keep him for myself. I have no problem admitting that. I am curious as to how this Will Gardner thing is going to go down though. I wonder how many problems it will cause for the firm since its set up so they can charge that drug dealer while trying to take a stab at Will. This doesn't make Peter look good at all though. I thought he was running a clean house, but that doesn't make him seem like.

I think it's official to say that Diane now knows about Will & Alicia and I thought she knew all along, but now it's just definite. I thought she acted pissed about it and I kinda get why she would be this. Their relationship could potentially cause problems for the firm. That sexual harassment class is definitely a result of sending Will a message about how she feels without saying anything at all. Maybe I wouldn't care so much if I didn't believe that one of them would getting hurt sooner rather than later. Alicia is still acting distant towards Will and he's not really caring. I wish they would show some more Will/Alicia scenes though! haha. Even though there was a lot of tension between Will and Diane, their relationship is still amazing! I love seeing them on my screen together.

The case that they structured the whole episode around was not as good as what else happened and I like it that way. I loved that lawyer that Alicia had represent her. I so hope she gets to come back sometime later!!! She's amazing! I felt kind of sad that even Will just cared about how this would look to their firm and not really caring that Alicia could face 8 years in jail and would have to pay that fine. :/

I actually enjoyed the Peter (who I noticed is still wearing his wedding ring) and Will scenes. Everyone knows what is going on but doesn't wanna say anything. I love how Will said something like you're pitiful, grow some balls and throw a punch. I think he actually meant that, but also metaphorically. He was challenging him to do something.

The ending of the episode was quite interesting. I noticed how one of the last words that was said on that sexual harassment video that it makes an uncomfortable work environment and that's exactly what Will & Alicia looked like. Uncomfortable. I just can't wait to see more of this!!

Other random things that I liked:
  • Seeing Grace in Peter's office.
  • Caitlin didn't annoy me that much in this episode.
  • Seeing Cary smile.
  • Seeing Glenn Childs back
  • when they were discussing how something happened or how Alicia would say it happened. It was amazing.
Other things I didn't like (but just accepted):
  • No Eli
  • I feel like Kalinda is being benched. She needs to be friends with Alicia again
I think that's all I gotta say about this show. It was a good episode overall.

Once Upon A Time 1x03 "Snow Falls"

I am sorry if this sounds awkward. I usually don't do things like this, but I am hoping I will get better at it as I go along.

I am very impressed with this tv show. They have far past my expectations. I thought this show was going to be cheesey and just have no meaning what so ever, but I was so wrong.
I love how strong they made the women, even when they are telling the fairytale side of it.
I like how they changed how really changed how Snow White and Prince Charming meet. They didn't just meet at some random time. Snow White is a thief and hiding in the woods because his mother hates her and tried to kill her. I love how Snow White actually fights back and even is considered a criminal. I have never heard a Snow White character ever be portrayed as that. She doesn't take anything off of anyone and she does what she wants. I love how even though Snow White hits Prince Charming in the head and it sends him flowing down the river, he still comes to her rescue (dry, may I add) when some knights come and try to capture her and when they get away, he simply replies it was the honorable thing to do. When they go find some trolls near this bridge to get back Prince Charming's jewels that Snow White stole from him and the sold them to the trolls, they end up getting in a fight with them and again he comes to her rescue and fights. He tells her to go on ahead and that he's right behind her, but when she realizes he's not and that the trolls are actually getting a hold of him, she goes back and uses this necklace that she was saving to use on the queen. The stuff that is in this necklace just makes anything and anyone turn to dust. She just expains to him that it was the honorable thing to do. I also really love that they actually gave Prince Charming a name, James and that he is even going to be engaged to someone else. It makes it feel more realistic.

Emma Stone. I really like her. Jennifer Morrison is doing a great job with this character. I can only imagine what it feels like to have your child show up on your doorstep on your birthday and for him to tell you that you're a character from a fairy tale and you're the only one who can break the curse. Even though, it's really weird to think that Mary Margaret Blanchard (snow white) who  looks like the same age as her is her mother, I really like their relationship. I also think that their relationship is also going to be the thing that makes Emma believe in everything that's going on.

Mary Margaret Blanchard. I really perfer her as the snow white character that we got to see tonight. But I love how I got to see David Anders back on my screen. I hope he at least is in a few more episodes. After their date, I love the quote that she says to Emma about how "if finding true love was easy, we all would find it." Then when she is just trying to humor Henry when he says that John Doe is Prince Charming. When he touched her, I think that was the first thing that made her start to believe that what Henry is saying is true and that he is not delusional.  Then when he wakes from his coma and they find him near the trolls bridge, it was like he remembered her without realizing it. I also loved how they turned that true loves kiss around. Her kiss to him is what made him come conscious. I love that part so much!! She really started to believe it then too! My heart broke for her at the hospital when she finds out that he's engaged to someone else. I am pretty sure it is the same actress who played his soon to be fiance in the fairy tale half too. I think that Regina totally set that up though. He has been in a coma for years and this is the first time that she has come looking for him.

Some of my favorite quotes from tonight
  • Not having a happy ending is painful enough.
  • If finding true love was easy, we all would have it.
  • Not having anyone is the worst curse imaginable.
I really hope they're able to keep this show going. I love it and I love they're changing those stories and making it modern and making the characters stronger and how they are able to stand on their own.

My first post.

I will probably start this blog tomorrow.

The Good Wife, Once Upon A Time, Pan Am, and How To Make It In America all air tomorrow so I will just start fresh on a new week.

Usually after each episode I watch, I will write down my review of the episode. I usually won't summarize, but more like just commenting on what I liked or didn't like.

I may even post reviews on movies and music.
